cosmic connections to media
Uramichi Oniisan Review
Artist: E. Goldeen
Statement from the Artist:
I had watched the show a while back, but I still think about it very often. As someone who often contemplates becoming an adult in the modern world, I want to believe in a future where connections are not only possible, but a bit easier when patient and mature. We persevere in hopes that even in a dull and mundane life, we will have such connections to make our time on earth worthwhile.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Review
Artist: E. Goldeen
Statement from the Artist:
Edgerunners had a strange influence on me. I felt that it was very novel and inspiring, and never shied away from its message. Especially today, many dreams seem like they will eventually become outdated, careers replaced by technology or general desensitization to hopes of changing the world. Uniquely, the connections in Edgerunners are almost all compromises- anyone who chooses to follow someone else will often see their downfall as a result, but they risk everything in order to make that connection.

Dumplin' Review
Dumplin' is a feel-good, heart felt, and inspiring movie to all ages. It encourages all body types to be confident in their own skin, demonstrating that each and every one of us are able to accomplish things just as easily as others can. In today's society, social media plays a huge role in how individuals look, act, and so much more. Although some critiques to humankind could contribute to positive actions, there seems to be more cons than pros. For example, with a large majority of people using filters on their faces, or using apps to almost completely change their bodies, they become blinded to the natural beauty they hold. Also, given that these filters and apps are so easily accessible, it gives a false representation to young people and can cause them to put themselves down for not looking like a filter. I chose to review this movie to further share what should’ve never been lost and what this movie captures, which is that all bodies are perfectly and wonderfully made.

Statement from the Artist:
This movie teaches individuals of all ages to love their bodies just as they are. As this world needs more positive words of affirmation, and not filters to cover up the natural beauty they were born with.
